The course is structured to cover four main components: Reading Comprehension, Grammar and Vocabulary, Punctuation and Sentence Structure, and Creative Writing.
1. Reading Comprehension
The reading comprehension module trains students to analyse passages accurately, identify main ideas, and infer meaning. Students will learn to:
- Recognise key themes and supporting details.
- Develop inference skills to understand implied meanings.
- Analyse language, tone, and style choices made by authors.
- Answer multiple-choice, short answer, and long-answer questions based on text.
2. Grammar and Vocabulary
In the grammar section, students review all essential grammar rules covered in the 11+ syllabus. This includes:
- Parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, etc.).
- Sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and clause types.
- Punctuation rules (use of commas, semicolons, colons, and apostrophes).
- Vocabulary-building exercises, including synonyms, antonyms, and word meanings in context.

- Homework assignments for the 11+ English Mastery Course include reading comprehension tasks, grammar and vocabulary exercises, sentence structure correction, and creative writing prompts. Additionally, students complete timed mock exams and writing tasks to practice test-taking strategies and improve their skills under exam conditions.
