In these lessons, students will learn how to solve real-life word problems using different areas of maths like algebra, money, time, percentages, and geometry. Students will see how maths is used in everyday situations and build problem-solving skills along the way.

The aim is to help students understand how maths is used in everyday situations while building confidence and problem-solving skills.
A variety of engaging activities and resources will be used to support learning, including educational games, visual aids like PowerPoint presentations and the interactive whiteboard, and worksheets for independent work. Students will have opportunities to work individually and with the teacher to develop their understanding and apply their skills in different ways.

- Students will be able to solve different types of real-life based questions, focusing on multiple core topics.
Outcome
- Apply mathematical skills to solve real-life word problems involving algebra, money, time, percentages, and geometry. Interpret and break down word problems to identify the key information and choose the correct mathematical operations. Use visual aids and strategies (e.g. diagrams, number lines, equations) to support their problem-solving process. Work independently and collaboratively to complete tasks and explain their thinking. Improve confidence in using maths in everyday situations, such as budgeting, planning time, or calculating discounts. Reflect on their learning by discussing different methods and checking the reasonableness of their answers.
