Description
2 lessons a week, helping learners master using fractions, how to write fractions in common form and also draw pie slices to represent parts of a whole.
Learners will engage with concepts like parts out of half, third, quarter, sixth, eighth, tenth. Learners will have to represent different parts as a common fractions and as a diagram.
Learners will also recap concepts like factors and multiples in relation to fractions and simplifying fractions.
These concepts will be built upon where learners will add and subtract common fractions.

- To understand how to represent common fractions and pie diagrams and interpret both vice versa
- To understand how to simplify, add and subtract fractions

- Students will be able to gain the ability to work with fractions of halves, thirds, quarters, sixths, eighths and tenths

Hi there!
I am currently a maths boffin, experiment craving and nature-loving teacher. I have many passions and some of them, creative. I have worked in different careers because I enjoy meeting all kinds of people and learning new things. I have gained experience as a fine dining waiter as well as a commercial diver. I have a degree in Marine Biology and Ocean and Atmospheric science!
In 2017, I went on two research trips out in the open Ocean, one in the South Atlantic and the other in the Southern Ocean – yes, I have been to Antarctica, it is magnificent!
Now I run my own online tutoring business, where I can help mentor and shape students’ minds to understand and enjoy maths. One thing I love about my lessons is that I can make them funny by using humour and jokes in the lessons, this is always helps to make maths and science fun!
When I am not tutoring, you will find me in the ocean, either surfing, diving or on the beach watching the sunset. Other hobbies of mine include playing guitar at church and cooking, but mostly just eating :P
